The Westerly Oceanmaster 48 is a robust sailing yacht, built to Lloyd’s standards. The current owner carried out an extensive refit in 2023/2024 during which a large number of components were renewed and modernized. Upgrades include: new windows, Gebo deck hatches and portlights, a cockpit finished with cork decking, full LED lighting, a Dometic inverter air-conditioning system (27,000 BTU), cockpit shower, deck wash system, high-power AIS, a Philippi switch panel with touchscreen, plastic freshwater tanks, a lithium battery bank with a total capacity of 1200 Ah, washing machine connection, refrigerator compressor, Orca navigation system and plastic seacocks. Deck equipment has also been renewed and includes a sprayhood with integrated cockpit tent, sun- and mosquito screens, winter cover, railing bag, UV strip for the genoa, a mainsail drop system with lazyjacks, halyards, mast blocks and cockpit stoppers, as well as a dinghy with outboard engine. For energy generation, in addition to shore power this Westerly is equipped with five solar panels on deck, four double-sided solar panels mounted on the railings, and a wind generator. The underwater hull has been treated with epoxy and was fitted with hard antifouling in 2025. The sails are in good condition and appear to have seen little use. A customs declaration is included in the documentation and the yacht is registered in the Dutch Kadaster. The Westerly Oceanmaster 48 offers excellent comfort for extended stays on board and is therefore well suited for long-distance cruising or permanent liveaboard use.
The interior of the Westerly Oceanmaster 48 has also been thoroughly refurbished. All interior woodwork has been completely stripped of old paint and refinished with new varnish. In addition, new wall coverings have been fitted and the cushions have been renewed. For improved comfort, the hull has been insulated with PU foam. The spacious saloon offers approximately 1.90 m of headroom and features a comfortable seating area with a dinette, creating a pleasant living space on board. The galley is located to starboard in the passage leading to the aft cabin. It is practically laid out and equipped with a gimballed 4-burner stove, extractor hood, double cool box, sink and ample storage space. The aft cabin features a spacious double berth with mattresses, plenty of storage and an en-suite bathroom. This bathroom is equipped with a shower, washbasin and manual marine toilet. In the forepeak there are built-in lockers of splendid woodwork providing additional storage space. In the passage leading to the forepeak, to starboard, there is a second heads compartment with an electric flush toilet, washing machine connection and storage space for cleaning supplies and other equipment. To port side there is a practical workspace with a desk, locker and equipment, including a switch panel, second VHF radio and AIS. For additional comfort on board, the Westerly is equipped with central heating with six radiators, air conditioning and a hot water boiler.
