Norman James is a Southerly 110 (hull number 60), built by Northshore Yachts in 2006. Renowned for their robust build quality and exceptional versatility, Southerly yachts feature a hydraulically operated lifting keel controlled from the helm. This system reduces the draft to just 0.7m and allows the yacht to safely take the ground on her cast-iron grounding plate, opening up shallow anchorages and drying harbours that are inaccessible to many fin-keel yachts.
Finished in Southerly Blue over Ivory White, with Biscuit-coloured gelcoat to the non-slip deck areas, she presents smartly both alongside and underway. Below deck, the interior is crafted in solid American Cherry, complemented by Indigo upholstery in the saloon and Sand upholstery in the cabins, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Accommodation is flexible and well thought out. The aft cabin offers a generous double berth, while the forecabin features a portside single berth that converts to a double. The saloon table also lowers to form an additional large double berth, making the layout ideal for cruising with family or guests.
Norman James is in very good condition and has benefited from significant recent investment, with over £11,000 spent during 2023 and 2024. Upgrades include new TecSew canvas for the sprayhood, bimini and stackpack, complete replacement of sanitary pipework, a new heat exchanger and exhaust elbow, a replacement bow-thruster motor, new depth transducer and renewed gas pipework. The mainsheet track has been relocated to the coachroof by Northshore, freeing up valuable cockpit space, and stainless-steel Simpson swivelling davits have been fitted.
Tankage is well suited to extended cruising, with a standard 205-litre freshwater tank supplemented by an additional switchable 105-litre tank, along with a holding tank. She was lifted, compounded, polished and waxed in June 2025 and is currently lying in Chichester Marina.
