The daysailing experts in Austria are bringing a new, regatta-optimised version of their A 33 to Düsseldorf. In the Performante version, the slim boat comes with tiller steering instead of the two steering wheels. The carbon fibre rig with rod shrouds remains the standard. Test in YACHT 10/2016.
The hull is made of aluminium in a round bilge, the deck is made of GRP. Like all Allures yachts, the flagship of the shipyard in Cherbourg comes with an integral centreboard and internal ballast and can fall dry with double rudder blades. The fixed windscreen with dodger is available for longer sea voyages.
The Swedes have given their 43-footer a comprehensive update and are presenting the MK II version at the trade fair. The boat is built slightly wider and more voluminous in new shapes. The interior fittings are the main beneficiaries of the extra space. But there are also many new features on the outside.
The innovative Bali concept stands for maximum space utilisation. Bali's new 4.4 As with all cruising cats from the French manufacturer, the fixed platform of the 4.4 is extended between the hulls right up to the bows. This creates space for a huge front cockpit with lounge area.
The southern German manufacturer is premiering its smallest model in the new series at the trade fair. The C 38 is the slightly smaller version of the successful C 42 (Europe's Yacht of the Year 2021). Extreme volume in the bow and stern, chines and edges, good sailing potential and a relatively large galley are the design features. The basic price is favourable, but it still needs a few extras to become a finished boat. Anyone looking for an eleven-metre yacht or wanting to charter one will find a benchmark here.
Market leader Beneteau wants to reactivate the sporty First programme. The First 36 is to play a decisive role in this. The modern design comes from Sam Manuard, and the boat is built under licence by Seascape in Slovenia. In the large YACHT comparison test of the eleven-metre performance cruisers the First 36 has been able to put the competition in its place on the courses. The interior is trimmed for lightweight construction, but not uncomfortable. Also making its debut at the Beneteau stand is its bigger sister First 44.
Beneteau is sparing no effort and is shipping its largest sailing ship to the trade fair in Düsseldorf. The Oceanis Yacht 60 is based on the collaboration between designers Roberto Biscontini and Lorenzo Argento. In the YACHT test (issue 21/2022), the large and extremely voluminous yacht demonstrates solid, almost sporty sailing performance. The basic version of the ship is offered for owners with three very spacious double cabins and three heads compartments.
With different owners and a completely new boat, the Bente Yachts brand wants to continue to take off. The new compact cruiser from the Bente family with the typical dodger above the companionway presents itself as a harmonious package with good innovative and functional solutions. In the test, the Judel/Vrolijk design also performed well under sail. Below deck, the touring-suitable layout with five berths and a separate wet room is pleasing.
The Italians from Cantiere del Pardo have launched an attractive performance cruiser with an extremely straightforward and versatile concept. The Grand Soleil 40 sails strongly in the test, is uncompromisingly well equipped on deck and also offers a lot for touring sailing. Detailed test in YACHT 2/2023, first photos here
The renowned Dutch shipyard is presenting its two new releases, which utilise the same hull form: The 50 CS is a centre cockpit boat with a central aft cabin. The 49 CS has an aft cockpit, two cabins in the stern and a dinghy garage. Both boats are equipped and built to a high standard. The Test of the 49 CS read in YACHT 3/2023.
Its large hull volume offers space that redefines the standard in the ten metre class. The Felci design is available in three versions: as a simple charter boat, as a well-equipped family boat or as a sporty performance cruiser. Two or three double cabins are available. Test in issue 22/2022.
The yacht builders at Elan Yachts are setting off a veritable firework display of new products this year. In addition to the world premiere of the Impression 43 (exclusive test in YACHT 3/2023), the Slovenians will also be exhibiting the GT6 from the upmarket Gran Turismo range as well as the new Elan E6, also making its debut in Germany. Compared to the smaller models in the performance cruiser programme, the concept of the E6 is now trimmed for even more sportiness and performance. The rig is higher in comparison, the sail area is larger with a short overlapping genoa and the hull appendages with variants are deeper. Elan's new performance cruiser will also be available in a race version with a carbon fibre mast for even more power. When it comes to the interior, however, the focus is more on luxury, cosiness and comfort. The standard layout features three spacious double cabins and two toilet rooms with separate showers. As a variant, a fourth Pullman double cabin with two additional bunk berths is possible in the foredeck.
The traditional Swedish brand has now added a counterpart with an aft cockpit to its 40 C with centre cockpit. The hull and rig remain the same, but the structures and shape of the deck have been changed, and with them, of course, the expansion options. Instead of the large master cabin in the stern of the 40 C, the new Hallberg-Rassy 400 (test YACHT 18/2021) can be fitted with either two or three double cabins. The exclusive Hallberg-Rassy 50 will also be presented as a new model at boot 2023. It has already been presented in detail in the YACHT test in issue 16/2021.
