Sailors continue to spend a lot of money on their hobby. In view of all the current crises - whether wars, inflation or floods - this is perhaps the most remarkable result of our latest reader survey. More than 7,000 of you took part in the autumn. That is far more than would be necessary to derive a representative picture from the responses.
For example, which boats are at the top of the list of favourites among long-standing or future owners. And which sizes are most in demand. The figures on this page provide information on this and more.

How important is sustainability?
The topic of sustainability is moving further into focus. From the sailors' point of view, the boating industry is called upon to act
- 75 % of YACHT readers think that sustainability should be a matter of course
- 56 % demand that products in the water sports sector should be recyclable
- 54 % would be prepared to pay more for an environmentally friendly product
