The Boatshow Bernau is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. On the first weekend of Advent, there are not only exciting yachts to see on Lake Chiemsee, but also equipment, lectures and more - admission is free of charge

Pre-Christmas highlight on Lake Chiemsee: Germany's largest in-house sailing yacht show opens its doors from 1 to 3 December 2023. With 18 sailing yachts on display from Bavaria and Hanse, Dehler and Dufour as well as Moody and Bente, there is plenty on offer for sailing enthusiasts. Among other things, the new Hanse 410 will be celebrating its German premiere before it can also be seen at boot in Düsseldorf in January. We have already tested whether the new boat from Greifswald really has what it takes to stand up to the strong competition:

At the Yacht Centre Chiemsee, over 30 exhibitors will also be presenting a wide range of products and services relating to topics such as equipment, charter, financing and insurance, as well as training. With its wide range of products and services, the trade fair, organised by Yachten Meltl and Hanse-Vertrieb am Chiemsee, offers a unique platform, especially for water sports enthusiasts from southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

In addition to the culinary catering in an Advent atmosphere, the interesting specialist presentations are also among the highlights of this year's event, which is free to attend. Topics range from safety on board, sailing wardrobe and anchoring, underwater coating to drinking water treatment and energy generation. Among others, Austrian single-handed sailor and safety expert Christian Kargl, a two-time participant in the Mini-Transat, will talk about its fascination.

Growing up just a few metres from the shores of Lake Constance, Max Gasser found himself on board the family's 15 dinghy cruiser at an early age, which was later replaced by a 30 dinghy cruiser from 1932. In the meantime, Gasser had already achieved his first successes in the Opti and switched to the Laser as part of the Baden-Württemberg state squad. After graduating from high school, he realised a childhood dream by buying a foiling Moth, which he now lives out in a newer boat. After freelancing for a local water sports magazine, he completed an internship at YACHT, which led to his traineeship and then to a job as an editor in the Wastersports Digital editorial team. As a representative of Gen Z and foiling, he feels particularly at home in all areas of sporty sailing.
