Balance 442

With the Balance 482, the South African brand has been nominated as European Yacht of the Year 2023. Now the shipyard is following up with the smallest model in the line. The Balance 442 is also based on a very sporty design by Antoine du Toit, with slim hulls and centreboards. It also has a powerful rig with plenty of sail area. Prices start at around one million euros gross.

Fountaine Pajot New 80

With a new, exclusive 80-footer, the catamaran builders in France are now approaching the super yacht market. Up to six elegantly furnished double cabins with en-suite bathrooms are possible, plus a jacuzzi on the foredeck as a special feature.

If Batman had a boat, it would probably look similar. The Spanish-built Hanstaiger X1 trimaran is indeed hard to beat in terms of special features. Not only does it have a central living space in the style of a cathedral, but also a steering cockpit with a spaceship ambience. The first ship from the limited edition of three boats is ready and afloat. The price is quoted at around 4.5 million euros.

HH 52

The new model from HH Catamarans in the USA is a further development of the HH 50, a sporty design by Morelli & Melvin with slim hulls, secured centreboards and a high, powerful rig. The shipyard has changed the cabin superstructure and key parts of the cockpit. The new model is now available with either two helm stations aft or with tiller and bucket seats for the helmsman on the side decks. The HH 52 is fitted with two hybrid engines with shaft drives. The energy for this is also supplied by the solar cells on the cabin superstructure. The boats are manufactured by HH Catamarans in China.

MODX 70

The Océan Développement shipyard based in Brittany has announced a project that is both exciting and very unusual. The MODX 70 catamaran is powered by two inflatable wing rigs, similar to the imaginative Inflated Wingsail IWS system:

The cat is additionally accelerated by electric drives, the electricity for which is produced exclusively on board. The innovative design was developed in collaboration with the VPLP studio in France.

High performance potential combined with luxurious living comfort on board - the coveted compromise is also difficult for multihulls. The catamarans from the French brand Outremer strike a happy medium, for which the Outremer 55 was recently honoured with the title of European Yacht of the Year. Now the successful model comes in a smaller size. The new Outremer 52 is highly customisable in terms of interior design. Prices have not yet been finalised.

The renowned shipyard from Les Sables-d'Olonne is launching a new flagship for luxurious blue water cruises. The ship from the small series can be customised to the maximum and offers up to five cabins with en-suite bathrooms. The owner's cabin in front of the saloon is the centrepiece of Marc Lombard's design. The flybridge is partly covered with a hardtop. From 8.092 million euros.

Slyder 54

Line expansion at Slyder Catamarans, based in Eschborn. Following the launch of the Slyder 49 (YACHT 9/2019 test) and the introduction of an 80-footer, the next new construction project is now underway. The sporty and powerful boat is based on slim hulls with retractable centreboards and a carbon fibre rig as standard. The cat is powered by electric motors. The price: 1.78 million euros, gross.
