At first glance, there has been little change in the rankings, with the majority of yachts securing a similar position to 2023. In general, there is nowhere near as much happening in the world of sailing yachts as there is with motor yachts. Nevertheless, there are twelve new entries, seven of which are in the top 100.
One of the oldest sailing yachts in the ranking is the "Xarifa 1927" in 94th place (2023: 87th place). The three-master was originally built for the sewing machine manufacturer Singer and initially sailed under the name "Radiant" or "Georgette". However, she first became famous through the research trips of marine biologist Hans Hass, who did pioneering work as a shark expert. In 1960, Hass sold the yacht to Carlo Traglio, the Coca-Cola licence holder, who converted it back into a racing yacht. After Traglio's death, the "Xarifa" became the property of a major Spanish industrialist in 2013, continuing its eventful history.
In 1994, she was the first Vitter yacht. A Greek resident in the Netherlands ordered the 350-tonne displacement ketch with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. Elmar Meurer was responsible for the design of the interior, which is characterised by a lot of mahogany. The wing keel, which has a depth of 4.20 metres, has a span of 6.40 metres. Following a comprehensive refurbishment in 2008, "Thalia" shone in new splendour before changing hands in 2014.

The motorised glider with a raised pilothouse became the property of the US Firestone family in 2007. At the centre of the family clan is psychologist and author Robert Firestone, who named the ketch after his stepmother Tamsen Firestone. The 18-year-old ship, a Perini, is regularly to be found on the entry lists of major superyacht regattas and has also made a name for itself as a well-known party yacht.
