It is considered the highlight of the Caribbean classic yacht season. The Antigua Classic Week regularly attracts the largest and most beautiful traditionally built yachts to the starting line. YACHT- Photographer Tobias Stoerkle visited them for us. You can see his best impressions in the gallery above!
There are four races to be contested, but there is also plenty on offer for participants on land. For the atmosphere alone, many ship lovers are drawn to Nelson's Docyard when the classic fleet of the Caribbean moors there in mid-April to celebrate and set sail for glory and honour.
The spectacle has been taking place at the end of the charter season since 1967. Many of the participating yachts then return to remote home harbours. This is one of the reasons why the unique atmosphere is a mixture of family reunion, competitive spirit, celebration and a spirit of optimism. The pictures express it.
