The vote for Europe's Yachts of the Year is being held for the 20th time. Here are the candidates for the anniversary Oscars. The winners will be announced during boot Düsseldorf

All new or significantly revised boats from the current model year are eligible for the Yacht of the Year nomination. The number of newcomers varies between 50 and 70 and are recorded in a separate database. Every year in June, the jurors jointly filter the most interesting representatives in the respective categories from the possible candidates. This is followed by two test events at which the candidates are compared and assessed. The first round took the jury to La Rochelle at the end of September. The second, even more extensive test followed in October off Port Ginesta near Barcelona. It lasted a whole week. As always, the winners are chosen at boot Düsseldorf in January.

Here we present the candidates in the 5 categories:

Luxury yachts

Oyster 495

Oyster's latest model is also the smallest from the British luxury shipyard. But the Oyster 495 doesn't look small, on the contrary. And it sails excellently in a wide range of conditions, regardless of waves, chop or light winds. There's just one thing you have to get used to - and it's not the eccentric graffiti styling of the test boat

Ice 62 Targa

She comes from Italy, and her lines as well as her temperament fulfil all the expectations that arise from this origin. But the new Ice 62 can do more than just sail fast and look good. It also sets standards in terms of design, workmanship and variability. We sailed the luxury yacht with the performance DNA for three days. Here are the first pictures!

Oceanis Yacht 60

The market leader is expanding its upmarket blue water programme and is launching a new flagship with a range of exciting new features. The boat is not intended to compete with the Jeanneau Yachts 60. Although they come from the same company and serve the same market segment, they are quite different. A comparison of the Jeanneau Yachts 60 and the Oceanis Yacht 60 from Beneteau
