50 | Rosehearty | 56.00 m: Fans can find various details about their idol at syrosehearty.com. Not quite up to date, the last refit was in 2022. Perini's third 56 took over media mogul Rupert Murdoch. Christian Liaigre celebrated his first yacht project with the interior. After Joey Kaempfer acquired "Rosehearty" in 2013, Arctic cruises were on the agenda. For regattas, the businessman booked sailing pro Paul Cayard. Charter: 225,000 euros a week.

49 | Caoz 14 | 56.00 m: Nauta Design tackled the major interior refit in 2022 and replaced the original Art Deco style with a straightforward look. The 56-metre Perini once roared into the water as the "Selene", was sold in 2012 and named "Parsival IV". From 2014 to 2018, the aluminium ketch sailed with a new owner but with the old name again. Now she is called "Caoz 14". The flybridge motorsailer was Perini's first 56 with a large tailgate.

48 | Bayesian | 56.00 m: The only slip from Perini Navi's 56-metre small series built ten times sank on 19 August 2024 (page 12). As a result of a violent thunderstorm, "Bayesian" sank within a few minutes, less than a mile from the coast of Sicily. Seven people died in the accident, including British tech billionaire Mike Lynch and his daughter. The UK government published an initial investigation report ten months later. According to the report, "Bayesian" heeled at 90 degrees and was unable to right itself. The wind hitting the mast was probably sufficient for this: in a direct crosswind, a gusting wind speed of more than 63.4 knots would probably lead to capsizing. In mid-June 2025, the hull was raised to the surface from a depth of around 50 metres. Investigations are ongoing.

47 | Piropo | 56.00 m: The 530-tonner was born in 2008 as the "Silvana". Two portholes are at the centre of the hull lines designed by Ron Holland. Together with Rémi Tessier and the owner, the in-house design team developed a modern, light-coloured oak interior. The master suite is located below deck at the widest point of the 11.52 metre wide hull. The crew of eight lives under the tenders.

46 | Asahi | 56.00 m: At 240,000 euros a week, the charter price is 20,000 euros higher than two years ago, although the motor sailer with 499 Gross Tons has now also travelled to the spa. Sales price via Y.CO: 30.9 million euros. The ketch with flybridge was launched as the "Riela" and is considered a 56-metre model of the first generation, construction number seven. Her owner did the same as that of "Bayesian" (48th place) and left the interior to Rémi Tessier.

We are in the range of 56 to 60 metres, with Maximus (31st place) being the only new entry with 59.00 metres. Bayesian (48th place) is likely to cause a stir in these rankings. The Perini Navi sloop sank within a few minutes off the coast of Sicily as a result of a storm in the summer of 2024. Seven people died in the accident, including British tech billionaire Mike Lynch and his daughter. Ten months later, the government of the United Kingdom published a first investigation report.

"Alea" takes 41st place (2023: 36) and stands out above all due to its impressive appearance, which Germán "Mani" Frers designed with radically modern yet elegantly strong lines. With a slender line of ten metres and a shimmering grey hull that tapers at the bow, it is reminiscent of a submarine. Yet "Alea" was built entirely from aluminium at Vitters over a period of three years.

50th place - Rosehearthy - 56.00 metres

Perini Navi built the third ketch in the 60-metre series for Ennio Doris, who died in 2021. The family of the Italian businessman is said to have sold the 11.40 metre wide Ron Holland Riss. Below deck, there is space for five guest cabins and a crew of nine to ten. The Italian studio Dante O. Benini brightened up the interior with LED strips, while underwater lights set the scene for the XL sailboat at anchor.

Uske was born just outside Volkswagen in 1970 and tested various small boats with sails through her boyfriend (now husband 😊) on a quarry pond. Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
