Tricat in France is intensively maintaining its range and is closing the gap between the small Tricat 6.90 and the current flagship Tricat 30 with a new boat measuring 8.50 metres in length.

Thanks to the swivelling side hulls, the width of all Tricat trimarans can be reduced. With the new 8.50 model, the maximum width of 6.50 metres is reduced to a harbour-compatible dimension of 2.95 metres. Folded and weighing just under two tonnes, the trimaran can be easily transported on a trailer.

All three hulls and the decks are built by Tricat in Brittany as GRP constructions using the vacuum infusion process and additionally reinforced with carbon fibre structures. The centreboards are located in the side hulls and can be raised from the cockpit using lines. The carbon fibre rudder blade is attached and therefore also depth-flexible. This means that the trimaran can be sailed directly onto the beach with a minimum draught of just 45 centimetres. And slipping over the ramp is also no problem.

Plenty of power under sail

The Tricat 8.50 is equipped with a relatively high, strong and also rotatable aluminium rig. An overlapping genoa with hole points on the cabin superstructure and a fully battened mainsail with square head are part of the standard equipment. These upwind sails are made of high-quality laminate material. If you want additional sailing performance, you can equip the boat with a furling gennaker or a code zero. A retractable bowsprit is provided at the bow for this purpose. All deck fittings, pulleys, rails, clamps and winches come exclusively from the high-quality Harken range. For motorisation, outboards in various power levels between 6 and 15 hp are optionally available at extra cost.

The interior of the centre hull comprises a spacious forward cabin with double berth. An additional single berth is located aft under the cockpit floor. The two side sofas in the saloon can also be used as berths, meaning that a total of five people can sleep comfortably on the Tricat 8.50. A split galley is provided on the forward main bulkhead, as well as a separate toilet room with WC and washbasin. The headroom in the saloon will be over 1.80 metres.

The Tricat 8.50 can be ordered in three different versions (Standard / Family / Croisiere). Prices start at 137,365 euros.
