​​The Cannes Yachting Festival has become the largest and most important in-water boat show in Europe. The many new models on display are enriching the current market. In the second part of our preview of the show, we present the latest developments in multihull boats.

​​The Cannes Yachting Festival will take place on the Côte d’Azur for six days, from Tuesday 8 September to Sunday 13 September. For sailors, the main action will once again be centred at Port Canto on the eastern side of the bay. According to the organisers, this is the world’s largest in-water exhibition for sailing boats, showcasing the latest monohulls and catamarans from numerous international shipyards.

Even more premieres:

​The exhibition will showcase cruising yachts, performance cruisers and luxury multihulls in a wide range of size categories. These will include numerous exciting premieres. Cannes 2026 will thus remain one of the most important international showcases for new sailing yachts and the latest developments in yacht building. More than 700 sailing and motor boats, ranging in length from 5 to over 50 metres, will be on display at the show, presented by over 600 international exhibitors. In addition, a large number of suppliers will be showcasing a wide range of maritime products. The organisers are expecting more than 55,000 visitors from all over the world.

Aquila 45

With a new range, the American motor catamaran specialist Aquila is strengthening its presence in the sailing boat market. The 14.38-metre-long Aquila 45 features a forward cockpit, flybridge and plenty of living space. This exciting American yacht will make its world debut in Cannes.

​Aquila 50 Sail

As the bigger brother of the 45 Sail, the Aquila 50 Sail is also making its debut at Cannes. The designs of both models are similar: plenty of living space, a fixed foredeck platform, a forward cockpit and a flybridge with a central helm station.

Fountaine Pajot FP 48

The new Fountaine Pajot FP 48 replaces the Tanna 47 and offers plenty of living space and clearly separate living areas. The forward cockpit, flybridge lounge and flexible layouts featuring three to five cabins underline its touring credentials.

Fountaine Pajot FP 55

As the larger sister model, the FP 55 follows the same comfort concept as the smaller FP 48, but offers significantly more space and a more extensive range of fittings. The 17-metre catamaran is the new flagship of the Fountaine Pajot range.

The new model from Bordeaux replaces the successful 46 and offers significantly more space on and below deck. A huge forward cockpit with direct access to the saloon, a new helm station and flexible layouts characterise this fresh design.

More space, larger windows and a more powerful rig: the new Leopard 43 replaces the 42 and moves closer to its larger sister models. A forward cockpit, flybridge lounge and three or four cabins reflect the high standards of comfort.

Outremer 48

Designed with both speed and long-distance sailing in mind, the new Outremer 48 is aimed primarily at ambitious blue-water sailors. Sleek hulls, centreboards and a powerful rig promise high performance, whilst ten interior layouts ensure flexibility.

Sinbad 55

The Simbad 55 marks the arrival of a new Spanish brand in the luxury cruising catamaran segment. Spacious living areas, a sheltered forward cockpit and a large flybridge characterise this comfort-focused design. The ‘Legend’ version will make its debut in Cannes.

Windelo 55 Sport

With the Windelo 55 Sport, the catamaran builders in Canet-en-Roussillon are once again significantly raising the bar in terms of performance. A longer waterline, a more aggressive bow shape, a carbon rig and optimised centreboards and rudders ensure greater speed. The Windelo 55 Sport is making its world debut in Cannes.

Opening hours: Tuesday 8 September to Sunday 13 September 2024, daily from 10 am to 7 pm. On Friday evening, the fair is open until 10 pm; on Sunday, it closes at 6 pm.

Location and how to get there: Port Canto and Vieux Port in Cannes. There are flights to Nice, as well as bus and train services to the exhibition centre in the city’s harbour. It is also possible to take a water shuttle from Nice to the exhibition centre.

Admission prices: A one-day ticket for adults costs 40 euros, and a two-day ticket costs 65 euros. Children aged 10 and under have free entry to the fair. The tickets are valid for entry to both exhibition sites. Tickets can be purchased online.

Links: Water shuttles and water taxis run between the ports of Port Canto and Vieux Port, and there are also buses running by land. Transport is free of charge for all trade fair visitors.
