Every two years, BOOTE EXCLUSIV publishes the ranking of the largest sailing yachts in the world, and in summer 2023 it was time again. We present the top 100 and their exciting stories. Let's start with places 100 to 76!

Two years after the last Top 200 ranking, they are back: the 200 largest sailing yachts in the world. At first glance, little has changed in the rankings, with the majority of the yachts securing a similar position to 2021. "Nativa" (48 metres), for example, was last ranked in 98th place and has now slipped to 101st. Not nearly as much is happening with sailing yachts as with motor yachts. Nevertheless, there are twelve new entries, but only five of these are in the top 100.

The new sailing yachts in the top 100 also include two motor sailers from Croatia. "Clase Azul" and "Anima Maris" are ranked just over 48 metres and are in 95th and 98th place respectively. They were developed and built with the aim of transporting charter guests across the Adriatic in style.

The legendary ship of Hans Hass and Rupert Murdoch's wedding yacht

One of the oldest sailing yachts in the ranking is the "Xarifa 1927" in 87th place, which has already sailed as the "Radiant" or "Georgette". The three-master was built for the sewing machine manufacturer Singer. However, it was the voyages with marine researcher Hans Hass that made her famous. The shark expert sold her in 1960 to the Coca-Cola licence holder Carlo Traglio, who turned her back into a racing yacht. After his death, "Xarifa" went to a major Spanish industrialist in 2013.

The ship at 96th place has often been the subject of gossip in high society: American media mogul Rupert Murdoch ordered "Morning Glory" and had her built in Italy. In 1999, the flybridge ketch provided a romantic backdrop for his wedding in New York harbour. Nevertheless, Murdoch parted with the steel-aluminium yacht in 2004 and took delivery of a much longer project two years later: the 56-metre-long "Rosehearty" (45th place). The list of owners allegedly included the recently deceased Silvio Berlusconi, who put the yacht up for sale again in 2020 and sold it to a compatriot. As a result, she spent some time in the halls of the Italian Lusben shipyard in 2021 for her ten-year refit, from which she left with a new hull paint job in navy blue and a refreshed teak deck.
