That was close! The ship almost ran straight into the house

An absurd scene on the Norwegian Trondheim Fjord. A 135-metre container ship crashes onto the coast and narrowly misses the idyllically situated house. The occupant didn't notice a thing and slept peacefully.

Resident Johan Helberg described the events as "unreal". On Thursday morning, the "NCL Salten", a 135 metre long container ship, crashed into his garden on the Trondheimfjord for reasons as yet unexplained. The ship had only just missed his coastal house. Strangely enough, Helberg was lying calmly and soundly asleep in his bed, unaware of the near-disaster that took place right on his doorstep.

It was only when his excited neighbour Jostein Jörgensen rang the doorbell at 5 a.m. that Helberg slowly woke up. However, he didn't react at first, as he said he didn't like opening the door "so early in the morning". When the phone also rang, the Norwegian began to suspect that something must have happened.

More curious news

Fortunately, there were no injuries on land or on board the container ship. The ship itself does not appear to have suffered much damage either, as no oil has escaped so far. Only a heat pump pipe in the building appears to have been damaged. It is still completely unclear how the incident occurred and is being investigated by the police and shipping company.
