After Perini Navi slipped into insolvency, The Italian Sea Group (TISG) won the bidding process at the beginning of 2022 and is said to have transferred 80 million euros to the insolvency administrator. The shipyard group from Marina di Carrara is known for motor yachts up to 100 metres long from Admiral and for the Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63, but is also very familiar with sailing yachts. According to TISG, 50 per cent of all Perini boats have already been refitted by the NCA Refit division.
Under its new management, Perini Navi plans to deliver three new sailing yachts by 2024: a 47-metre sloop and a 56-metre and 60-metre ketch. CEO Giovanni Costantino's plan is to manufacture sail sizes up to 55 metres in Viareggio and everything above that at the TISG headquarters in Marina di Carrara. The 60-metre model with a crack by Ron Holland and an interior by Rémi Tessier is due to go to the sailing-mad software tycoon Larry Ellison in 2023. Costantino's design team is already involved in the 47 aluminium metres, while Malcom McKeon is responsible for the 56 metres.
TISG recently announced that the 46-metre catamaran "Art Explora", which is currently under construction, will also fall under the Perini Navi brand. The joint project by designer Axel de Beaufort and constructor Guillaume Verdier is being created for French philanthropist Frédéric Jousset and is due to be launched this year. The aim is to Changing art exhibitions and move from harbour to harbour.
Perini Navi is also presenting a revised fleet called "Genesis". It comprises three models: 48, 56 and 77 metres. All have the typical Perini style, but have been given a modern makeover by TISG-Centrostile headed by Gian Marco Capanino. This means clear lines, large glass surfaces and an open stern. Comfort is paramount and, as Giovanni Costantino, CEO of the group, says: "We have transferred the comfort of motor yachts to sailing yachts, creating a harmonious synergy between two worlds."
The new 48 is offered as a Slup in two versions: Regatta and Cruising. All handling will be possible via joysticks at the helm. The iconic 56-metre size has been given a visual and technical refresh by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design and is scheduled for launch in July 2025. The 77-metre yacht brings back the Falcon Rig: two 62-metre Panamax masts with electro-hydraulic sail management. There is also a spa beach club with folding terraces.
