Fender-Design, which is actually active in the field of customised yacht textiles, is expanding its range to include another sprayhood light. Lumagsolar is a 13.0 centimetre diameter and 2.2 centimetre thick lamp with five LEDs that can be placed anywhere in the sprayhood and connected to an external solar panel.
The 17.5 x 17.5 centimetre panel with a thickness of 2.5 centimetres and the lamp hold each other in place with sufficiently strong magnets. The panel supplies the 3,000 mAh battery of the sprayhood lamp with power during the day, but can also be charged via a USB connection. The lamp can be regulated via a remote control and emits warm white light of between 30 and 130 lumens in the cockpit. The system is IP44-protected against splash water from all directions.
It works excellently, the light is pleasant, the sprayhood area can be well illuminated or visually emphasised. Overall, the lamp impresses with its functionality, simple design and easy installation. If you find the panel a little too bulky, you can alternatively opt for the magnetic LED (€29.90) from the same distributor, which is only powered by internal batteries and is held in place by a small magnet. This light also works with a remote control, but only emits a cool white light. The Lumagsolar costs 69.90 euros. Purchase for both products: Fender design.
