According to the manufacturer, Wave 2 should be able to cool an air volume of ten cubic metres from 30 degrees Celsius to 20 degrees in five minutes. With the optional additional battery, eight hours of air conditioning should be possible. The actual duration varies depending on the ambient temperature and the cooling setting.
Wave 2 measures 52 x 30 x 34 centimetres and weighs 14.5 kilograms. The additional battery has a capacity of 1,159 watt hours, measures 52 x 27 x 9 centimetres and weighs 7.8 kilograms. The power storage unit is mounted under the air conditioner like a plinth. The cooling capacity is specified by the manufacturer as 1,500 watts and the heating capacity as 1,800 watts. The temperature can be regulated between 16 and 30 degrees Celsius and can also be set via an app on a smartphone.
Condensation water is collected, air is dehumidified
The Wave 2 air conditioning system has an internal condensation collection tank that must be emptied regularly. It can also be drained through a hose. In this case, the air conditioner also acts as a dehumidifier.
In closed rooms, the cooling is of course only effective if the warm exhaust air is discharged through a hose. Alternatively, the Wave 2 air conditioning system can also be set up outside and only the cool breeze can be channelled into the boat through an air hose via a hatch. A special sleep mode can be activated to reduce the noise level of the compressor and fan to a maximum of 44 decibels.
The battery of the Wave 2 air conditioner can be charged in various ways: via 230-volt alternating current, 12-volt shore power or solar panel. Price: 899, with additional battery 1,598 euros. Powerstations and solar panels from Ecoflow can also be used as an additional power supply. The scope of delivery includes air pipes and adapter plates for connection.
