The regatta dates for the coming summer have been finalised and the first entry lists have been opened. Impressions that whet the appetite for the upcoming sailing summer

The Freundeskreis Klassische Yachten, the German organisation representing the interests of lovers of traditional sailing yachts, has already trimmed its regatta calendar for 2023. It starts with the anniversary edition of the "20th+1st Max Oertz Regatta" over Whitsun, followed by the night regatta "The Run" and the "Rendezvous of the Classics".

The long-distance journey through the night will depart from Flensburg, Schleimünde, Kiel and Fehmarn on the evening of 9 June 2023 and take the fleet to Svendborg in Denmark. There will be a get-together at the harbour on Saturday before setting sail for home on Sunday.

If you wish, you can organise the return trip from Svendborg directly to the Schlei and leave your boat in Grauhöft at the Henningsen & Steckmest or Stapelfeldt shipyards. On the Thursday of the following week, a dinner with live music will be organised there, before a race across the Stollergrund into the Kiel Fjord on Friday, where they will anchor in Plüschow Bay.

On Saturday morning, the classic fleet will start in several groups directly from the start house of the old Olympic harbour in front of the Kiel Yacht Club for the "Rendezvous of the Classics" race towards the Kiel lighthouse. In the afternoon, the fleet will be moored directly in front of the Kiel Yacht Club, where the prize-giving ceremony with snacks will take place in the evening.

In addition to the winners of the Rendezvous in the various classes, the winner of the Berthold Beitz Cup will once again be celebrated with gin and tonic from the imperial jug. This travelling prize is awarded annually by the KYC to the fastest large cruiser yacht in the Saturday regatta.
