During the Mets 2022 equipment trade fair, the organisers counted almost as many visitors as before Covid. We were there and took a look at the most important products

Luminous fibres for boat building

The two manufacturers of fibreglass boat building materials Guardtex and Structural Composites Inc. have collaborated to develop a fibre that boat builders can incorporate into any boat structure. With the help of RGBW LED lamps, the fibres can then be brought to life and begin to glow.


Simply polish to a high gloss with polish in the tank

The French company PadXpress has developed an innovative polishing system. The Nautic line offers polishing paste for gelcoat and perspex windows. The agent is continuously dispensed from a reservoir integrated into the polishing sponge. A ceramic-based sealant protects the glossy gelcoat. Price: from 50 euros.


Cooking without gas

GN Espace has electrified its compact cooker with the Levante 2. The cooker measures 45 x 48 x 41 centimetres and has two induction hobs and an oven. The maximum output is 3.8 kilowatts. Price: 3,500 euros without inverter.

With Atmos, the British company Scanstrut has added an electric air pump to its programme. The unit is designed for permanent installation in a bulkhead or dinghy. Simply connect the hose and the SUP or dinghy will reach the desired pressure. Up to 1.5 bar. From 320 euros.


Upholstery holder with magnets

As the name Foam Anchor suggests, this invention from New Zealand is inserted into the foam of a cockpit cushion. The magnetic underside then adheres to metal plates that are screwed or glued to the deck of the boat. This keeps the cushion magnetically in place, eliminating the need for tedious buttoning.
