Swan keeps house designer Germán Frers on his toes like never before in 43 years of collaboration. After the 88, 108 and 128, now comes the 100, with Italian architect Lucio Micheletti once again assisting the Argentinian in refining the exterior. Measuring 32.30 metres with a bowsprit, the carbon-slide is close to the 98, which was first launched in 2020 and built four times, but Frers has made the new boat much wider at the stern and positioned the twin rudders further out and aft. This allows for a shorter tender garage, while the crew area and main bulkhead have been moved further aft. The result is more living space for the three cabins and the suite in the foredeck. On the starboard side, the Finnish yacht builders have realised an optional lounge in front of the main bulkhead.
The 7.20 metre wide 70-tonner will have a five metre deep fixed keel or a telescopic keel (3.40-5.30 m). The bowsprit, which is laminated a little further down than usual, allows for larger gennakers and should also make anchoring easier and safer.
The first Swan 88 came to light in Pietarsaari, Finland. The first Swan with hybrid propulsion is due to complete test runs on the Baltic Sea in the spring, provided the ice has disappeared. The Swan 128, whose hull has been painted and is currently being refitted, is also expected to arrive in the course of the year. The 39 metre long flagship of the Swan Maxi line will follow the Swan 108 (2023) and Swan 120 (2022).
The Swan line, in which Nautor combines yachts under 24 metres in hull length, is also being further expanded. The Italo fins recently presented the concept of the Swan 51, which is positioned between the 48 and 55 and with which Nautor is breaking new ground in several respects. For the first time, there will be an optional targa bracket and a furling boom in the mast. For the 15.55 metre Swan 51, Nautor is offering three keel options (2.05 m | 2.45 m | 3.20 m) and a sports version with a carbon mast and 151 square metres of sail area.
The Swan 51 has a special significance for the Finnish shipyard. The co-operation with Germán Frers began with the first 51 in 1981. And a 51 was the thousandth yacht ever built by Nautor. It was also the model that made today's main shareholder Leonardo Ferragamo a Nautor customer.
