The trimaran experts from Astus Boats in Brittany, France, are currently presenting the largest model in their range to date at the boot Düsseldorf trade fair. The universal concept of the Astus 26.5 is aimed at a young, sporty clientele and is designed for the widest possible range of uses.

On show in Hall 16 / Stand D30

The new Astus 26.5 also features the tried-and-tested system for pushing the hulls together to reduce the width in the harbour or to enable transport by road. The principle is very simple: the beams consist of solid aluminium round tubes that are offset and run in correspondingly larger fitting tubes that are integrated into the hulls. On land, the floats are pushed parallel close to the centre hull; on the water, they can be retracted via a sheet pull using the winch.

The design of the new Astus 26.5 comes from the renowned VPLP Design studio. The strikingly slim side floats have a distinctive wave piercer design and are higher, especially in the foredeck area, to provide sufficient buoyancy even in rough seas. The pronounced chine edges of the centre hull over the entire length are also characteristic. The tulip-shaped bulkhead ensures a slim waterline, but at the same time provides sufficient volume for an interior fit-out suitable for touring.

Simple handling, many options

A deep centreboard in the central hull can be almost completely raised. Together with the attached rudder, which can also be raised, the trimaran can be sailed right up to the beach on tours and when travelling. Launching and retrieving via a slip ramp is also uncomplicated. The Astus 26.5 can also be easily transported on a trailer on the road thanks to its reduced width of at least 2.52 metres and a weight of just 1.1 tonnes.

The Astus 26.5 is available in various versions (Leisure, Cruising, Sport) and can be customised to the owner's needs right from the shipyard. Corresponding equipment packages are available for an additional charge. Below deck, the trimaran offers solid living and cruising comfort for up to four people. Two side-mounted galley modules support the demands of touring sailing, and a chemical toilet is located under the bunk in the foredeck.
