Fishing in the fjords of the South Island, taking a helicopter to the best wineries or simply enjoying water sports in the beautiful Marlborough Sounds - New Zealand is an absolute holiday dream. This can be explored on the "Sea Eagle" from Royal Huisman (2020), for example.

The "Sea Eagle" is one of the largest sailing yachts in the world at 81 metres in length (beam: 12 m) and delivers the best sailing characteristics with a top speed of 19 knots. "She floats across the ocean. Her acceleration under sail is pure exhilaration and cannot be compared with any other ship," enthuses the captain. No wonder with a canvas area of 3,552 square metres.

Free time on board the "Sea Eagle"

The ten guests on the three-master are spread over five suites and are looked after by 15 crew members. This includes excellent cuisine and the grill master enjoys a special reputation. Brand new on board is the Windy SLR 60 "Osprey", which picks passengers up from the harbour or takes them to a secluded sandy beach. Otherwise, the water toys, the strength trainer or the open-air on-board cinema pass the time at sea. YCO has the yacht in its programme for 550,000 euros per week.

Uske was born just outside Volkswagen in 1970 and tested various small boats with sails through her boyfriend (now husband 😊) on a quarry pond. Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
