Managing Director Marconi on the future of the Marinedi harbour network
We spoke to Managing Director Renato Marconi about the current developments and future plans of the Marinedi Group. The company is developing and operating an increasing number of marinas in the Mediterranean, and the network now comprises more than 5,500 berths in 15 harbours in Italy

Mr Marconi, in a few words: What is the Marinedi harbour network?

Renato Marconi: Our company develops and manages marinas in the Mediterranean. All marinas fulfil the same quality standards. This applies to services ranging from boat maintenance to navigation support, transparent mooring fees and trained staff.

You have just welcomed your 15th member, the Salina marina in Sicily. What is your aim and what are the benefits for the harbours?

Renato Marconi: We want to unite 25 harbours in the Mediterranean by 2026. New members in the group will be made available all year round. We are adding services that did not exist before, fixed tariffs and 24-hour reception. Our goal is to create a network of marinas in the Mediterranean that are functionally connected, with a focus on promoting the surrounding area.

More on the topic:

Why is Marinedi interesting for German boaters in the Mediterranean?

Renato Marconi: One advantage offered by the group is the option of taking out an annual contract to moor for free in any member harbour from one week to four months. Those who sign a seasonal, annual or multi-year contract receive a ten per cent discount and six free nights.

What plans do you have for the coming years?

Renato Marconi: We have a five-year programme for autonomous energy supply with renewable and self-generated energy. The plan includes the energy efficiency of port buildings and lighting systems, electric means of transport, the overhaul of inefficient energy infrastructure in the ports, the construction of infrastructure for the use of electricity and the reduction of pollutant emissions from ships at the quays.
