There are also new developments along the German Baltic coast for the 2026 season. Our area update for the waters around Rügen and Usedom tells you where.

Territory updates 2026

Stralsund

The Strelasund Yacht Club on the island of Dänholm in Stralsund has completed the renovation of its jetty facilities and renewed the electricity and water connections.

Gustow

In the south of Rügen, the barbecue area at the fire ring in the harbour of the Gustow nature oasis has also been redesigned, and in the summer, Till Grabowski, a master boat builder, will move into his new boatyard, where he will offer services and refits for classic wooden yachts in the future.

Lauterbach

The modernisation of the infrastructure is also continuing in other ports on the island: There is a new waste water extraction system in the home port of Lauterbach on the Greifswalder Bodden.

Thiessow

A new building for the sanitary facilities and harbour office is currently under construction at the Thiessow fishing and leisure boat harbour.

Gager

Gager harbour is creating more capacity for guest berths by reorganising the jetties. In addition, the opening of a catering boat and the construction of a sauna have been announced for the summer.

Lohme

There is also news in this region in terms of digitalisation: the Lohme marina in the north of Rügen near the Jasmund National Park has digitalised its administration. Guest berths can now also be reserved via the Anny system using an app. New signage should help with orientation. After the marina was closed until May 2025, it has now been completely dredged. It now has a draught of between 3.00 and 3.50 metres.

Ziemitz

Further south-east on Usedom, the renovation of the jetty in the Ziemitz marina on the Peenestrom was completed and a new harbour terrace was opened. According to the harbour operators, however, the marina should only be approached during the day, as the fairway with a draught of 1.70 metres is not lighted.

Rankwitz

The onshore facilities at Rankwitz harbour have been extensively expanded: A new catering pavilion with beach chairs and a sauna with a roof garden are now available to visitors to the harbour. An extension of up to 25 additional berths is also being planned.

Peene river bridge

Also relevant for recreational boating on the Peenestrom: Skippers must be prepared for restrictions in the Wolgast area from 7 April 2026 due to construction work for the new Peenestrom Bridge. Particular caution is required east of buoy PN58, as a new bridge pier is being erected there. Numerous work vehicles, pontoons and divers are being used at this point. The construction site must therefore be avoided at a safe distance and with particular caution. The site management can be contacted on site via VHF channel 09 or channel 16 to make arrangements or ask questions. In addition, the summer opening hours have been in force since 16 March. At the same time, the second bridge crossing has been brought forward to 07:45. The midday opening between 15 May and 4 September has been moved back by five minutes to 12:50 due to the train timetable.

Ueckermünde

There is a new harbour usage regulation in Ueckermünde town harbour on the Szczecin Lagoon: to prevent damage to the yachts from fishing hooks, fishing in the public facilities is prohibited with immediate effect in summer.

Territory updates 2026
