A lot has happened along the German Baltic Sea coast in the past year, and innovations have also been announced for 2026. Our area update for the Flensburg Fjord and the Schlei.
The northernmost section of the German Baltic Sea coast comprises the Flensburg Fjord and the Schlei. As elsewhere, work was carried out in the harbours as well as on the waterway infrastructure. To the Flensburg Fjord: The innovations on the Danish side you can find here.
In the very north of Schleswig-Holstein, the home harbour was opened in February on the southern shore of the Flensburg Fjord in Langballigau extensively dredged.
TheBeacon Kalkgrund running in the outer fjord still only in emergency mode and "unreliable until further notice". A current notice to mariners (BfS) calls on shipping to navigate the area around the Kalkgrund shoal with particular caution. It is not yet clear when the beacon will function normally again.
At the Schlei one was in Kappeln active: North of the bridge, Anchor Yachting has completely renovated its jetty. The old oak planks were replaced with GRP beams and grid plates.
In Lindaunis the team at the marina will be offering engine servicing and maintenance work on the boat for the coming season. In addition, owners can now have staff check whether their boat is properly moored. As a "good morning greeting", there will also be two free rolls per crew every day from May.
The operation of the Lindaunis Bridge Just west of the marina, contrary to the original fears, it was possible to a few days earlier than planned be resumed. Since 26 March 2026, it has reopened for recreational boating according to a fixed schedule.
Between 10:30 and 17:30, it is now possible to drive through every hour. However, the speed limit is 10 km/h. Ships travelling in the direction of Schleswig have priority. Suction and waves must be avoided.
