A boat show on Lake Constance is taking a new approach: Boats & More Bodensee is presenting itself and the entire boating industry at various locations this year with a varied programme - what the three-day boat show has to offer

A trade fair in a new format is to be launched at Lake Constance next weekend. Around 20 exhibitors want to offer visitors a mixture of open-house operations, in-water shows and test drives at six different locations over three days.

Exhibitors from the fields of motor and sailing yachts, engines, sailing and motorboat schools, yacht insurance and yacht financing, sails and textiles, masts, rigging and electronics as well as boatbuilding will be presenting themselves in shipyards, marinas or service centres spread along the entire Swiss shore. Dealers for Hallberg-Rassy, Beneteau and Jeanneau, Bavaria, X-Yachts and Bente, as well as smaller shipyards from the region, will also be there.

The organisers of Boats & More Bodensee are thus taking a new approach and departing from the tried-and-tested concept of the previous in-water boat show at a fixed location. "Compared to the event in Bottighofen, the range of participants has also been significantly expanded thanks to the additional locations," explained Eugen Munz, spokesman for the organising association. The respective exhibitors can present themselves at their usual or selected locations, which visitors can easily reach by bike or public transport, by car or, in some cases, by shuttle service. In addition to an extensive water sports programme, the multi-faceted event also invites visitors to enjoy music, food and drink in a relaxed, maritime atmosphere.

The new Boats & More Bodensee opens its doors on Friday, 18 August 2023 at 2 pm, admission is free.

Growing up just a few metres from the shores of Lake Constance, Max Gasser found himself on board the family's 15 dinghy cruiser at an early age, which was later replaced by a 30 dinghy cruiser from 1932. In the meantime, Gasser had already achieved his first successes in the Opti and switched to the Laser as part of the Baden-Württemberg state squad. After graduating from high school, he realised a childhood dream by buying a foiling Moth, which he now lives out in a newer boat. After freelancing for a local water sports magazine, he completed an internship at YACHT, which led to his traineeship and then to a job as an editor in the Wastersports Digital editorial team. As a representative of Gen Z and foiling, he feels particularly at home in all areas of sporty sailing.
