Three dead, two injured, four missing - this is the terrible outcome of an accident that occurred between Dubrovnik and the island of Sipan

On Monday evening, two boats collided off the coast of southern Dalmatia in the Kolocep Channel between Dubrovnik and Sipan. At least three people lost their lives, two were seriously injured and four are still missing. This is reported by the "Dubrovnik Times".

All of the accident victims were occupants of a small motorboat that was travelling from Dubrovnik to Sipan. They were the relatively young operators and employees of a restaurant called "Bowa", which only opened in Pakljena Bay last year.

In its report, the "Dubrovnik Times" quotes Mato Kekez, the harbour master of Dubrovnik, who says that the boat of the accident victims was sailing without navigation lights. It was rammed at around 9.20 pm by a larger motor vessel, namely the Dubrovnik harbour master's search and rescue boat. The boat had been called to Mljet, a neighbouring island of Sipan, for an urgent ambulance transport and was also in the Kolocep Channel at the time of the accident.

As part of a large-scale search operation, one of the initially five missing boat occupants was found dead. There was still no trace of the other four until yesterday. The probability that they survived the accident is therefore very low.

The "Bowa" is used in the current issue of YACHT recommended by Croatia travel expert Bodo Müller as a restaurant tip. Whether and how the restaurant will continue is still completely unclear.
