In Werder near Berlin a harbour opens its doors to film fans on Saturday, 6 June 2026. The Havelauen Marina at Otto-Lilienthal-Straße 16-18 is transforming its crane site into an open-air cinema. Visitors can start the evening by the water from 6 pm, with the film starting around 8 to 8:30 pm as soon as it is dark enough. The event is presented by the Porsche Centre Magdeburg and organised by aquamarin Boote, the marina operator.

"With the harbour cinema, we are venturing a new event format in the Havelauen marina and naturally hope that it will be well received by our guests and people from the region. Our aim is to develop it into a recurring event and to make the harbour a special meeting place outside of traditional water sports," says Sofia Burchardi.

Cinema screen directly on the jetty

The cinema is located on the marina's crane site, where boats are normally launched. A large screen stands directly on the shore of the Großer Zernsee, part of the Havel. Deckchairs form the rows of seats. The location combines the maritime ambience of a marina with a classic cinema experience. Visitors sit between jetties and boats while the last rays of sun disappear on the surface of the water.

Burgers and cocktails in front of the cinema

A snack menu is available from 6 pm. The menu includes burgers, freshly prepared chips, nachos and popcorn. Cocktails, non-alcoholic summer drinks and freshly tapped beer are available at the bar. Ice cream will also be on sale. According to the organisers, the gastronomic offer is intended to combine harbour flair with a summer atmosphere. Visitors can eat before the film or eat during the screening.

The film is a surprise

The organisers have not yet announced which film will be shown in the cinema. Rumour has it that it will be a film in which waves play a role. This could indicate a maritime film, in keeping with the waterfront location. The exact announcement will be made in the coming days via the aquamarin Boote website, Instagram, Facebook and the marina's WhatsApp channel.

In the harbour for the first time

It is the first harbour cinema for the Havelauen marina. The marina is located in front of the Großer Zernsee, a body of water on the Havel to the west of Berlin. The marina offers moorings for motor and sailing yachts and is operated by aquamarin Boote. The company is a dealer for Bavaria, Jeanneau, Prestige, Axopar and Marex. Boats up to 75 feet in length are for sale in the 1000 square metre hall. It remains to be seen whether the harbour cinema will become a regular event.

The Havelauen marina in Werder

The Havelauen marina in Werder (Havel) is located directly on the Großer Zernsee and is a popular starting point for boat trips on the Havel. In addition to moorings for pleasure craft, there are also restaurants, cafés and a beautiful lakeside promenade. Thanks to the mixture of harbour, residential area and leisure facilities, the area has developed into a lively meeting place on the waterfront in recent years.
