Beaming faces at the finish in Lorient: Melwin Fink and Lennart Burke.
What began as a bold plan in a Hamburg kitchen will come to a glittering conclusion on 2 May: Following their participation in the Globe40 round-the-world regatta, Melwin Fink (24) and Lennart Burke (27), the youngest German double-handed crew, return to their home harbour. The originally planned "crate of beer on the jetty" reception has turned into a real highlight for all fans. Be there when the boys arrive in HafenCity on Saturday!

Melwin and Lennart have embarked on an ambitious project by taking part in the round-the-world regatta. After a promising start, everything was suddenly at stake in the middle of the ocean, far away from any civilisation. Saling damage forced the two sailors to abandon the leg from La Réunion to Sydney and skip two further legs. After returning to La Réunion and undergoing repairs, the German Class40 was then ferried in the opposite direction to the fleet via Cape Town and the Atlantic to Recife in Brazil. This meant that Lennart Burke and Melwin Fink were still able to sail the final leg and finish the race with their heads held high. Their fans pay tribute to the young sailors for their courage, their smart decisions and the strength to get back up after these setbacks and impressively complete the race.

To celebrate the performance and return of Melwin Fink and Lennart Burke in style, sponsors, partners, friends, family and fans are invited to a party on Saturday 2 May in the early afternoon when the pair arrive in Hamburg on their boat. Everyone is welcome to greet Melwin and Lennart:

We actually just wanted to have a down-to-earth crate of beer, but the response online was so gigantic that we want to share this moment with all of you. Come round, there are no fences, no entry - we want to see your faces!" - Melvin & Lennart

The programme on Saturday, 02 May:

  • From 12:30 pm: Be there live when the boat comes up the Elbe. Friends, acquaintances and fans will meet Melwin and Lennart in their boats and accompany them.
  • 13:15: The Bridge to Sandtor harbour opens, Entering HafenCity. An open welcome party with DJ, cool drinks and guaranteed goosebumps awaits you right on the jetty.
  • Official welcome: Short speeches by the sailors, partners and sponsors
  • 17:00: At the Zeise cinema, the new documentary "All in Good Time" about Burke and Fink premieres. Look forward to exclusive images of their journey, crises and successes on the big screen (Tickets required). Lennart Burke and Melwin Fink are personally present in the cinema. "All In Good Time" is a stand-alone film and complements the documentary "All In", which accompanies the first part of Burke and Fink's journey.

Come along, bring your friends and let's give the boys a proper welcome! If you can't make it to the premiere of "All In Good Times", the film will also be released on YouTube later.
