"Te Rehutai" capsizes
The Cup defender Team New Zealand has laid its 75-foot foiler "Te Rehutai" on its side during a training race. The boat could be righted

Footage of a capsize of the defence team Emirates Team New Zealand shows just how dramatic the upcoming America's Cup can be. During a training session off Auckland in fresh winds, the crew initially loses control of the boat, and when building up speed again, the rudder apparently ventilates - the boat hits the water with its nose and capsizes.

With the help of an escort boat, the Cupper was righted again. At the time of the capsize, the British Ineos team was in the immediate vicinity. It is not yet known whether there were any injuries or damage to the boat.

The challenger qualification begins on Thursday. All information here...

Two videos show the capsize.
