YACHT online readers in demand as creative minds

On 24 April, the new United Internet Team Germany yacht will be christened by the wife of the German President Eva Luise Köhler in Kiel. According to the representatives of the German AC campaign, there is no name yet.

The new Americas Cup yacht with the future sail number GER-89 is currently being worked on feverishly at the Knierim shipyard in Kiel. Just a few days ago, the so-called marriage of the deck and hull shells took place, the moment when the two largest parts of the ship are laid on top of each other. The keel fin will be delivered soon, followed by the keel bulb, then the rudder and finally the mast. So there is still a lot to do before the high-tech ship can be launched into the water.

Enough time for YACHT-online readers to think about a christening name for the new Cupper. Therefore: Think of a name for the GER-89 with which the United Internet Team Germany can face the competition with dignity. Send your suggestions to the following e-mail address by next Wednesday, 22 March: ger_name@yacht.de

The YACHT-online team will then forward the best suggestions to the United Internet Team Germany. And who knows, maybe the ship will soon be representing Germany at the Americas Cup with the name you have come up with.
