Readers' tip of the week: Practical line holder for the forecastle box
Anyone who simply throws mooring lines or cables into the tackle box will be cursing about wobbles and knots the next time they use them. Hooks and loops provide a remedy

From metal hooks with or without strops to webbing with a Tenax button or Velcro fastener and even a sawn-open plastic tube - there are countless options for hanging lines, cables or hoses. The most important thing is that the lines can later be reached from the lid without having to twist them and that they do not hinder access to the rest of the stowed items. If there is no free bulkhead, you can use a rod with hooks threaded onto it.
