Refuelling the outboard motor without spillage, "shut-off valve" method
Most outboards are models with an internal tank, which makes refuelling at sea difficult. A simple refuelling device prevents any spillage. Its centrepiece is a rubber bellows fitted with valves, which normally hangs in the supply line of an outboard motor with an external tank. This is used to draw in the fuel mixture. A shut-off valve is installed on the pressure side of the tap. This allows fuel to be transferred without spilling. When the tank is full, close the tap, hold the filling end in the canister, pull the suction end upwards and pump the system completely empty.
