Small, shallow boats in particular are easily overlooked in the dark. However, batteries and electrics are generally not available. But they are hardly necessary any more, as LED lights with batteries can nowadays last a whole night. But how do you get them as high up as possible?
For our Hansa dinghy, we had the sailmaker make a spar on a piece of sailcloth. The top light is mounted on the pole and the construction is pulled into the mast using the main halyard. Don't forget a safety line on the underside, which can be used to retrieve the mobile lighting.
