The aluminium experts at Meta Yachts in France are planning an ambitious line extension. The first ship in the new series and already under construction is the new Meta 43 with deck saloon.

The design comes from shipyard boss Philippe Brabetz and, with the striking deckhouse and a very well protected cockpit, is very specifically geared towards the requirements of a demanding and unrestricted blue water voyage. The enormously voluminous bow section and the pronounced moulded edges that run from the bow to the stern are particularly striking.

The hull and deck are built entirely from aluminium using the particularly resistant Strongall method patented by the shipyard. Although thicker aluminium plates are welded together for the hull in particular, the shipyard has to use fewer frames and stringers and can also save weight in the floor assembly. The Meta 43 DS is equipped with bi-keels and double rudder blades as standard. A single fixed keel with more draught and ballast is also possible.

The cockpit with the two helm stations is extremely low and very well protected at the same level as the deck saloon with the raised seating area and the galley to the side. The concept thus adopts the advantages of catamarans. Two very spacious double cabins and two heads are located deeper forward in the ship. The layout and the visual design below deck can be customised to the owner's wishes within certain limits.

The first Meta 43 DS ship is already under construction and is scheduled for completion in mid-2024. The French are also already quoting a price: the unusual blue water cruiser from France will cost around 625,000 euros, gross including 19% VAT.
