Easy sailing. This is what the concept for the new and small boat from the Dutch Saffier range promises. The daysailer experts in IJmuiden are bringing the new Saffier Se 24 Lite to the boot trade fair in Düsseldorf as an exciting world premiere

The typical DNA of the models from Saffier's modern SE series (Elegance) is also retained in the smallest boat. This means: modern, sporty hull lines, a large cockpit with sun lounge on the aft deck, a short and flat cabin superstructure, a long and firmly attached bowsprit and a high and powerful rig with plenty of sail area. The latest design by brothers Dean and Dennis Hennevanger now features a new negative bow stem, which is particularly visually advantageous, but should also favour the sailing characteristics in the waves. And: in contrast to its larger sisters, the Se 27 Leisure (YACHT 10/2020 test) and Se 33 Life (YACHT 24/2021 test), the small Se 24 Lite no longer has a fixed windscreen and is now only built with tiller steering.

Focused on the essentials

Buyers have the choice of sailing the boat with a self-tacking jib or with a short overlapping (110 per cent) genoa. The Seldén rig with only one pair of spreaders is on deck and can be easily set and lowered by hand. A hot eye and a strop make it easier to hoist in and out of the water. With a width of just 2.40 metres and a total weight of 1.2 tonnes, the small Saffier can be easily transported by road without any major inconvenience. Incidentally, the L-shaped keel with ballast bomb is available in three possible draught variants (see technical data below).

The boat will be equipped with a Torqeedo electric motor with pod drive and folding propeller from the shipyard. However, a version with a built-in diesel or petrol outboard motor is not planned. The lithium batteries for the drive are permanently recharged via the large solar panels permanently integrated in the foredeck. This means that the small boat is largely self-sufficient in terms of energy, even when it is attached to the buoy or standing on the road trailer on land.

The simple, unpretentious interior design allows for two people to sleep below deck. The interior also provides storage space for sails and equipment. A battery-powered refrigerator can be installed in the boat as an option.

For the market launch and world premiere of the Saffier Se 24 Lite in Düsseldorf, the Dutch company is quoting a base price ex shipyard of 79,900 euros net. Including 19% VAT, the base price is 95,080 euros. The sails are not yet included in the price.

On the boot Düsseldorf Saffier Yachts can be found in Hall 16, Stand D17.
