The product name says it all: Tiny Wash is a washing machine optimised for camping. At 58.2 x 62.1 x 35.2 centimetres, it is very compact and designed for bulkhead mounting. It can wash up to three kilograms of laundry at 30 to 90 degrees. Hot water can be supplied from an external boiler, which reduces power consumption. The Tiny Wash also offers a fully-fledged dryer function. Tiny Wash then requires 1,400 watts. A quick wash cycle is said to require 390 watt hours of electricity and twelve litres of water. The machine weighs 17 kilograms and costs 1,169 euros.
New airy sailing shoes
With the Revo Sail, Helly Hansen has added sailing shoes made from sustainable raw materials to its programme. The mesh material on the upper, lining, straps and laces are made from Ocean Bound material. Fishing gear from the sea is recycled for this purpose. In addition, parts of the shoe are manufactured using a special 3D printing process that is designed to minimise waste during production. The water-repellent finish is PFC-free.
The shoe itself is designed to offer particularly good grip on wet decks thanks to a special sole construction. Thanks to the use of mesh material, the shoes are said to be lightweight and well ventilated, while additional reinforcements provide good lateral support and stabilise the foot. An antimicrobial treatment also promises to protect against the formation of unpleasant odours. Thanks to the water-repellent coating, the material should dry quickly.
The Revo Sail is available in grey-white, black-red and blue-grey. Sizes range from 40 to 48 for men and from 36 to 42 for women. There is a white and light blue colour variant for female sailors. The price is 140 euros >> available here
