First, the most important point: the shipyard has not yet explicitly described the FPY 120S as the successor to the revised FPY 110 S. However, the latest announcement shows that the design concept and technical specifications have shifted noticeably within the space of a year. The 35-metre design, designated the 110S, has become a 35.5-metre model, which Fountaine Pajot markets as the Y120S.

The most striking difference lies in the propulsion specifications. The 110S was listed as having two engines, each with an output of 1,400 kilowatts. For the new sailing version, however, Fountaine Pajot specifies two engines of 671 kilowatts each as standard and two of 969 kilowatts each as an option.
Living space spread over three decks
When it comes to the layout, the FPY 120S becomes more specific. The official model page It boasts 613 square metres of living space for up to twelve guests and eight crew members. The design features a panoramic view stretching forward across three levels, an enclosed flybridge area, a saloon with butterfly windows that open upwards, and a beach club right by the water’s edge. The owner’s suite, which spans the entire width of the yacht, is said to measure 77 square metres.
This means the twin-hulled vessel remains well ahead of the Thira 80 launched the FP Yacht range, but raises the bar by more than eleven metres. Unlike with the 2025 project, the motorised alternative is now not merely a possibility but a concept in its own right. Fountaine Pajot lists the FPY 120 as a separate 36-metre model alongside the sailing yacht.
Key details remain unclear: the shipyard has not yet disclosed information on displacement, range, performance figures, price or construction time. The launch of the FPY 110S was originally scheduled for early 2028. It is as yet unclear whether this date also applies to the FPY 120S that has now been unveiled.
