This owner doesn't like half measures. His first yacht, "Kamaxitha", measures 55 metres. The ketch was built by Royal Huisman and designed by Dykstra and Rhoades Young. BOOTE EXCLUSIV went on board the world cruiser before Split.

This friendship must really be a very special one. We stand in the guest cabin next to the lower saloon and wonder why the doors are so wide. "A special design for a friend of the owner who is in a wheelchair," says the chief stewardess. When he is on board, the left-hand bed can be folded up and a small ramp set up for the wheelchair. Self-catering in the cabin and in the somewhat more spacious shower is guaranteed thanks to a number of aids. The group of visitors nods, impressed: a beautiful and noble gesture.
In general, the 55 metre long "Kamaxitha" makes a harmonious and very high-quality impression. The ketch built by Royal Huisman cultivates the traditional spirit-of-tradition style not only with its exterior, but also with its classic interior by Rhoades Young. The English interior designers, who are currently in great demand among sailing yacht owners, commissioned the shipyard's own joinery to use Swietenia mahogany for the panelling and furniture and walnut for the floors; white ceilings provide a contrast.
Brass-coloured handles, fittings and brackets as well as nautical antiques from the owner's collection emphasise the very maritime look.
Fortunately, we have enough time this morning to explore the yacht's interior in detail - there is only a force one wind off the Croatian port of Split, where we have tendered "Kamaxitha", and the captain will probably not weigh anchor for at least two hours.
Starting from the handicap cabin, the cabins for a maximum of eight crew members are located towards the bow next to the galley, where a German star chef works.
crew members. Aft is the Lower Saloon, the area on board for the cosy part of the evening. Here, "Kamaxitha" surprises once again - with a bar of a size that you would expect to find on a 60 to 70 metre motor yacht. The bar seats six guests comfortably and the shelf behind it is stocked with drinks of all kinds. "There's even freshly tapped beer," reveals the stewardess; the owner often stands behind the bar himself and serves drinks.
