The signature on the declaration to build the number one has long been dry, and so Baltic is taking the next step towards comfortable daysailing. The Baltic 68 Café Racer was already presented as a fresh sailing yacht concept under the motto "Cast off, set sail and enjoy". The Finns, who have more than 50 years of experience in yacht building, set new standards in terms of speed, style and handling. The fourth hull of the almost 21 metre long mini series is now under construction.
Now the Baltic 80 Café Racer is raising the bar even higher: thanks to the increase in length to 23.91 metres (width: 6.30 m) and thus the format of a maxi yacht, the comparatively light boat at 29 tonnes promises significantly more living space and delivers more performance thanks to its larger sail area and waterline length. Pure pleasure on the water.
Javier Jaudenes once again went to work on the Baltic 80 Café Racer. The renowned designer had already designed the 68 and, together with Baltic, was also responsible for the design of the exterior lines and the interior of the 80. Extensive simulations using CFD technology optimised the hull shape and sail area. After all, the 80 should not only be fast and highly stable, but also easy and safe to operate thanks to its electric drive and sail systems.
Customers can choose between a fixed keel with a draught of 4.6 metres and a retractable model with a variable draught of between 3.7 metres and 5.50 metres. There are also various options when it comes to the interior, as buyers should be able to realise their own ideas.
"The 80 is a natural progression to meet the demand for a yacht that offers the same sailing experience on a larger scale," says Henry Hawkins, senior vice president at Baltic Yachts.
