In Aalsmeer in the Netherlands, the aluminium hull of a 44-metre Juan K design was on show - with a high bulwark, large deckhouse and a stern that is wide at the top and ends in a striking double concave at the bottom. "Yemaya" should be as cosy as it is fast

In Aalsmeer, people should be used to the high-volume Juan K hulls that come out of the hall at Jachtwerf Gouwerok by now. A year before the 44-metre-long hull of "Yemaya", the aluminium of "Argo" (54 metres) in the Dutch sun. In fact, the two are something like sisters, designed and CFD-optimised by Juan Kouyoumdjian and his team from Valencia. The Argentinian, who has already reworked the cracks of the Starboot and Optimist, knows his way around both offshore and coastal racing. Juan K. entered the stage of sailing superyachts with the ClubSwan 125 "Skorpios", which Nautor Swan completed in 2021.

Like "Argo", "Yemaya" will have a keel that can be swivelled through 90 degrees and a high-performance carbon rig. An initial rendering shows the four-sailed mast standing almost amidships with plenty of rake and backstays. The stern section with its own superstructure and cockpit suggests that a large cabin is located aft and the crew area is in the bow. Another Dutch shipyard will fit out the 44-metre aluminium construction by 2026. The interior will be fitted out according to Adriana Monk's specifications, with delivery scheduled for 2026.
