The incident took place off the coast of Karaada Island when the ‘Zelda’ struck the rocks at around 2 am and ran aground. According to the DHA news agency, there were at least seven people on board, including four passengers.
The recovery of “Zelda” is underway
When the alarm was raised, teams from the Coastguard and the Bodrum Regional Port Authority were dispatched to the area. Work is currently under way to salvage the damaged yacht. The “Zelda” has been secured to the rocks to prevent it from sinking any further. No injuries have been reported.
The yacht was launched in 2010. Designed by Taka Yacht Design and Neslihan Kibaroglu (interior), this wooden yacht can accommodate ten guests and six crew members. Until now, she has been operating in the Mediterranean as a charter yacht and is available from Blue Ocean Club from 45,000 euros per week. Last refit: 2024.
