With a hull length of 8.77 metres, the new boat from NFun is only slightly shorter than the 9.00 metre NFun 30, although the new NFun 29 will be significantly less wide than its bigger sister. The width of the newcomer is only 2.54 metres, which is advantageous in many harbours for occupying the harbour spaces and also allows easy, uncomplicated transport on the road trailer. In addition, the double rudder blades attached to the stern can be removed in no time at all. And, the lifting keel reduces the maximum draught of 1.65 metres to just 55 centimetres. This makes it easy to launch and retrieve the NFun 29 on the trailer via the slip ramp.
The comparatively high and sporty aluminium rig carries a powerful mainsail with squarehead, plus a self-tacking jib as standard. With this configuration, the NFun 29 is particularly suitable as a daysailer and touring boat for families. Single-handed sailors will also get on well with the simple and clearly organised cockpit layout. Sailors with regatta ambitions can also get a larger genoa with 108% overlap and line-adjustable centreboard points on the side deck. The bowsprit is permanently attached and serves as the basis for a gennaker or code zero.
A dinette, i.e. a flexible combination of saloon and double berth with lowerable dining table, is provided in the foredeck for the extension below deck. A dog bunk is installed aft on the port side. The living space below deck is complemented by a kitchen module with cooker and sink as well as a completely separate toilet room. Various motorisation options are available: with built-in diesel, electric motor or outboard motor.
The NFun Yachting shipyard will be at the upcoming boat show in Düsseldorf with its NFun 30 and will also present the new NFun 29 as a project presentation. Only then will the shipyard be able to give an initial price classification.
