With a hull length of 8.77 metres, NFun’s new boat is only slightly shorter than the 9.00-metre NFun 30. However, the new NFun 29 will be significantly narrower than its larger sister model. The newcomer is just 2.54 metres wide, which is advantageous for berthing in many harbours and also allows for easy, hassle-free transport on a road trailer. In addition, the twin rudders mounted at the stern can be removed in no time at all. What’s more, the lifting keel reduces the draught from a maximum of 1.65 metres to just 55 centimetres. This makes it very easy to launch and retrieve the NFun 29 on its trailer via the slipway.
The comparatively tall and sporty aluminium rig carries a high-performance square-headed mainsail, along with a self-tacking jib as standard. With this configuration, the NFun 29 is particularly well suited as a day sailer and a cruising boat for families. Solo sailors will also find the simple and uncluttered cockpit layout easy to manage. Sailors with regatta ambitions can also fit a larger genoa with 108 per cent overlap and line-adjustable clew points on the side deck. The bowsprit is fixed and serves as the base for a gennaker or Code Zero.
For the layout below deck, a dinette is planned in the forepeak – a flexible combination of saloon and double berth with a lowerable dining table. A dog bed is fitted aft on the port side. The living space below deck is complemented by a galley unit with a hob and sink, as well as a fully enclosed toilet compartment. Various engine options are available: inboard diesel, electric motor or outboard motor.
According to the shipyard in Poland, the first two NFun 29-class vessels are already under construction. However, no specific prices have yet been announced.
