The trimaran experts from Astus Boats in France will present a new flagship in 2025. The Astus 26.5 is around one metre longer and also wider than the Astus 22.5 model (YACHT 7/2022 test) and therefore offers more comfort for cruising for up to four people. The design with folding centreboard comes from the VPLP studio and is easy to trailer thanks to the retractable side hulls and can also be launched and retrieved via the ramp. She was the small, big star at the Boot trade fair in Düsseldorf: the new Beneteau First 30, with which the industry leader in France completes its sporty programme in the smaller segment as a gap filler between the First 27 and the First 36. The concept was developed by manufacturer Seascape in Slovenia, which is responsible for all First models of 40 feet and smaller within the Beneteau Group. As with all Seascape designs, the construction comes from Sam Manuard, one of the most successful architects for ocean-going racing yachts. The Italian Lorenzo Argento was involved as stylist. Daysailers and weekenders are new additions to the Cantiere del Pardo programme. At the same time, the Grand Soleil Blue will also be the smallest boat in the current line. The name "Blue" stands for the colour of the sea and the new efforts of the Italian yacht builders with regard to ecologically sustainable construction. The design of the Grand Soleil Blue comes from the office of Matteo Polli Yacht Design. Below deck, the new weekender surprises with a cosy interior with berths for up to four people and a separate toilet room. Championships Yachting in Austria has further developed the Lago 26 concept. The sports boat is now available in the new Lago 26 Speedster version as a simple and single-handed, but still sporty daysailer. To this end, the shipyard has reduced the cabin superstructure and moved the position of the rig aft so that a self-tacking jib can be used. And: the bowsprit is now permanently attached. The daysailer is powered by an electric pod motor. The new Lago 26 Speedster was presented as a world first at the Boot trade fair in Düsseldorf. More about the Lago 26 Speedster
The round scow bow is also a striking design feature of the new ship in the Mojito series, as on the smaller Mojito 650 (test YACHT 10/2021). The construction plans once again come from scow expert David Raison, supported by designer Pierre Delion. The design includes a retractable swivelling keel and two rudder blades. With additional wading props, the boat can easily fall dry. The shipyard IDB Marine in Brittany wants to position the Mojito 30 on the market as a performance cruiser with high performance capabilities. The high sail plan with square-head top and overlapping genoa as well as the relatively low overall weight emphasise this. The shipyard also focusses on sustainable construction. The hull and deck are laminated in a sandwich with flax fibres and a foam core made from recycled PET bottles. The presentation of the Mojito 32 at YACHT online (as: Mojito 30)
The Pogo Structures shipyard in Brittany surprises with a new project for its ambitious line of ocean racing boats. The Pogo RC combines the latest design findings from the Mini 6.50, Class 40 and Imoca 60 classes. The design is the result of a collaboration between Bernard Nivelt and Sam Manuard and is optimised for the IRC handicap. The deck layout is specially designed for use in one-handed or two-handed mode. More about the new Pogo RC
The new Tricat 8.50 fills the gap between the Tricat 6.90 and the flagship Tricat 30. Thanks to the swivelling side hulls, the width of 6.50 metres can be reduced to 2.95 metres, which is suitable for harbours and trailers. Five people can sleep comfortably below deck, and there is also a galley and a completely separate toilet room. Smart universal genius: the new Tricat 8.50.
