The young team from the Weser is currently planning a Bente 28, which will incorporate all the experience gained from the smaller first model

"We have many potential customers who want more space for cooking and sleeping than on the Bente 24, as well as a separate wet room. In the 28, we are implementing everything we have learnt and the experience gained from the Bente 24," says Managing Director and co-designer Alexander Vrolijk, explaining the concept. The company has also learnt that many customers want a reduced draught, which is now offered for the Bente 28 in the form of a swing keel. A built-in electric unit is planned for the propulsion system, but the manufacturer has not yet been finalised. However, a central outboard motor will also be possible. The dodger above the companionway is once again the hallmark.

With a target weight of 2.2 tonnes, the Judel/Vrolijk design is quite light; in combination with the 47 square metres of sail area on the windward side, the Bente 28 would have a sporty, high sail carrying capacity of 5.27. The draught can be varied from 1.00 to 1.85 metres, according to Vrolijk. With a width of 2.99 metres, the 8.55 metre long boat is voluminous.

The basic equipment of the Bente 28 is to be quite slimmed down in order to keep the entry-level price low. This is planned at 68,000 euros including VAT. There will be a so-called Launch Edition, which will be richly equipped with high-quality laminate sails, canting keel, toilet, galley, furling jib, electric motor and power package for a total of 110,000 euros. These boats can be reserved from Saturday at boot Düsseldorf, where the team will be showing the popular Bente 24 and the new Bente 39.
