Production of Germany's smallest mass-produced boat was discontinued around a year ago. The Judel/Vrolijk design was built 299 times, initially at the old Dehler site in Freienohl. After the shipyard moved to Greifswald, the laminating work was then carried out in Poland.
Now Bernd Cwielong from Leipzig, interior designer and former Varianta dealer, has acquired the moulds and rights and will continue to build the boat. At the renowned shipyard Polar Shipyard in Estonia, the moulds are currently on their way there. The boat will be completed in Germany and will also be fitted with local sails. "We want to stay under 15,000 euros including taxes for the sailable boat if everything works out," announces the new Varianta boss Cwielong, who also wants to supply the existing fleet with spare parts.
