Andreas Müller, born in Allgäu, has been a passionate Hanseyachts brand enthusiast for over two decades, according to the shipyard. The multi-entrepreneur, family man and investor wants to take over the majority shares in the Greifswald-based company from the Aurelius Group. With Müller, Hanseyachts believes it is well positioned for further growth.

There has been a change of ownership at the Greifswald yacht builder Hanseyachts AG. The shipyard has a new strategic investor in Andreas Müller. The entrepreneur, who lives in Tyrol, brings with him extensive experience in the areas of financial services, corporate management and transformation. With his investment, Hanseyachts plans to develop further market shares and secure the competences at the Greifswald business location.

I believe we are well positioned after the transformation." Andreas Müller

As the owner of Müller Verwaltung GmbH and main shareholder of S.D.L. Süddeutsche Leasing AG, Andreas Müller is responsible for a broadly diversified group of companies. His activities cover the areas of industry, mobility and financial services. As a strategic investor and founder of several start-ups, he also supports technology-orientated growth companies. These include the Bavarian FinTech cap-on, an IoT specialist that is working with Thyssenkrupp to establish new data-based business models and usage-based financing solutions on the global market.

Expertise and social commitment

Müller himself is the owner of a Sealine. The once British motorboat brand was taken over by Hanseyachts in 2014. He is also passionate about sailing. In terms of business management, he has in-depth expertise in the areas of corporate finance, corporate management and transformation. His experience in the financial services industry and his involvement in numerous international M&A transactions would make him a valuable partner for Hanseyachts, the Greifswald-based company is optimistic.

In addition to his entrepreneurial activities, Andreas Müller is also socially committed. As a long-standing sponsor of SSV Ulm, he has contributed to the economic stabilisation of the club, which ultimately led to its promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. He is also a co-partner of Allgäu Airport (Munich West Airport) and, as an investor, supports an Indian education start-up to promote early childhood education and development.

Prospects for Hanseyachts

By joining Hanseyachts, Andreas Müller is not only contributing his extensive experience, but also his special affinity for yachts. "With its organisational structure and innovative way of thinking, Hanseyachts under the leadership of Hanjo Runde fits in perfectly with the orientation and principles of my group of companies," says Müller. He continues: "Following the transformation, I believe we are well positioned not only to secure the valuable expertise of the Hanse team at the Greifswald business location, but also to jointly develop further market shares."

Martin Hager

Editor in Chief YACHT

Martin Hager is editor-in-chief of the titles YACHT and BOOTE EXCLUSIV and has been working for Delius Klasing Verlag for 20 years. He was born in Heidelberg in 1978 and started sailing at the age of six, in an Opti of course. This was soon followed by 420s, Sprinta Sport and 470s, which he also sailed on the regatta course with his brother. His parents regularly took him on charter trips through the Greek and Balearic Islands. Even at a young age, it was clear to him that he wanted to turn his passion for water sports into a career. After graduating from high school and completing an internship at the Rathje boatbuilding company in Kiel, it was clear that he did not want to become a classic boatbuilder. Instead, he successfully studied shipbuilding and marine engineering in the Schleswig-Holstein state capital and focused on yacht design wherever he could. His diploma thesis dealt with the “Testing of a new speed prediction method for sailing yachts”. In 2004, the superyacht magazine BOOTE EXCLUSIV was looking for an editor with technical and nautical background knowledge, a position that was perfect for Martin Hager. The application was successful and a two-year traineeship was arranged. After twelve years as an editor, the editorial team changed and he took over responsibility for BOOTE EXCLUSIV as editor-in-chief in 2017. After long-time YACHT editor-in-chief Jochen Rieker moved to the role of publisher, Martin Hager also took over the position of editor-in-chief of Europe's largest sailing magazine YACHT, which is celebrating its 120th anniversary this year, at the beginning of 2023. When he's not working on topics for the two water sports titles, Martin Hager likes to go out on the water himself - preferably with kite and wingfoil equipment or on a little after-work trip across the Alster.
