The renowned manufacturer of instrument systems for regatta and cruising yachts is now part of the Norwegian Kongsberg Group

The well-known Simrad brand has long been one of the market leaders in the field of marine electronics for yachts and commercial shipping. With the acquisition of the English brand B&G, which has a particularly strong market share on regatta yachts, Simrad is significantly expanding its range.

B&G instruments are used on leading yachts, from touring yachts to America's Cups. The supplier is also recognised in the high-end yacht industry. With the acquisition of B&G, Simrad strengthens and confirms its claim as a globally recognised original equipment manufacturer in the motor and sailing yacht sector and manufacturer of high-quality autopilots, navigation and communication systems.

In Germany, the B&G importer (formerly Sailtron) only joined the Simrad Group as Simrad Schleswig in July. This was one step ahead of the merger of the Simrad and B&G brands, so to speak. Ralf Brüsse, who has been responsible for Simrad sales and marketing in Germany and parts of Denmark since July, is delighted with this development: "The best instruments in the world now come from a single source, together with Simrad's high-quality chart plotters, radar systems, TV antennas and VHF equipment. For the benefit of yacht owners, captains, shipyards, trading and service companies. Worldwide, because Simrad is present on the market with sales and service organisations in 44 countries."

As Jan Berner, international Simrad president, assured, B&G will continue to operate as an independent company and brand despite the takeover.
