T&T - News: 100 years of the Hatecke shipyard
A century for shipping

In April 1903, master shipwright Wilhelm Hatecke founded a repair yard for wooden coastal vessels on a former brickyard in Dornbusch on the Lower Elbe - not far from Stade.

In the years between 1970 and 1983, elegant GRP yachts were built alongside the commercial vessels, which were among the most robust boats of the time alongside the famous Glückstadt Hanseats. Even today, the Hornet 32 to Hornet 345 models are still sought-after insider tips on the used boat market.

In recent years, the shipyard has focussed on the construction of lifeboats and has become one of the most successful manufacturers in the world with its patented Bukh diesel launching lifeboats. The celebrations will take place in Drochtersen on 1 April from 11.00 am.
